Whether a customer who added a product to the cart actually completes the purchase depends largely on the payment experience. At the same time, the commission taken from every sale directly affects profitability.

In this article we summarize what you need to know to make the right choices for virtual POS and payment integrations.

Bank virtual POS or payment institution?

There are two main ways to accept card payments online:

Bank virtual POS: You sign an agreement directly with a bank. As volume grows, commission rates are usually more favorable, but onboarding can take longer and each bank requires a separate integration.

Payment institution (iyzico, PayTR, Param, etc.): A single integration gives you all cards and installment options. Onboarding is fast, making it a practical starting point for small and medium businesses.

For many businesses, the most efficient setup is to use both: a payment institution for a quick start, and bank POS terminals for better rates as volume grows.

3D Secure: balancing security and conversion

3D Secure lets the cardholder confirm the payment with a one-time password from their bank. It significantly reduces fraud risk and chargeback issues. In a proper integration:

The verification screen should work smoothly on mobile,

If verification fails, the customer should be able to return to their cart and details,

Bank callbacks must be verified securely, and the order should only be created after a confirmed payment.

Installments and interest management

Installment options make purchasing easier, especially for high basket values. Things to watch in the integration:

Showing the correct installment table based on the card’s issuing bank (BIN lookup),

Being able to decide per product or campaign whether the installment cost is passed on to the customer or absorbed by the seller,

Keeping the total amount consistent on the payment screen and on the invoice.

Saving on commission with multi-POS routing

If you have multiple POS terminals, a rules engine that routes each payment to the most cost-effective POS can generate significant savings. For example, charging through the POS of the card’s own bank, or sending installment transactions to the POS with the lowest rate for that installment count. Automatically failing over to another POS when one is down also keeps sales uninterrupted.

Refunds, cancellations and reconciliation

A payment integration is not just about collecting money. Refunds and cancellations should be possible with one click from the admin panel, partial refunds should be supported, and daily reconciliation reports should match your accounting / ERP. Otherwise your finance team ends up manually comparing bank statements with order lists at the end of every month.

Security and compliance

Card data should never be stored on your own servers. The payment page or card fields should be served through the payment provider’s secure infrastructure, keeping your PCI DSS obligations to a minimum. For recurring payments, card storage (tokenization) should be provided by the payment institution.

Conclusion

A well-designed payment infrastructure reduces cart abandonment, lowers commission costs and lightens the finance team’s workload. At NuxWoo we integrate bank POS terminals and payment institutions into WooCommerce and custom e-commerce platforms, together with multi-POS routing and ERP reconciliation.

To review your payment setup together, get in touch.

Integrating virtual POS and payment providers into your online store: bank POS vs. payment institutions, 3D Secure, installments, refunds and multi-POS routing to reduce commission costs.

[4

post-17","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-odeme
["GET
